french virtuosity
Tarare soft water
Located on the doorstep of the Beaujolais hills, Ninalys springs from exceptional expertise and the Turdine River. One of the softest waters in France, it flows through a UNESCO Global Geopark.
Distillation in the purest French tradition
Two magnificent copper double-distillation pot stills reign in the first room. They were made by hand by the Chalvignac manufacture, in the pure Charentaise tradition – the region where the village of Cognac is located.
Aging in French wine barrels
Ninalys whisky pay tribute to the winemaking world’s diversity and richness. They feature the fruits of French soil and the skill of growers.
Brewed, distilled & aged the french way
France has the highest consumption of whisky in the world. It is also a whisky-producing country that is increasingly recognized for the quality of its products. By exploring the wealth found in the country’s agriculture and regions, distilleries and distillers with their individual expertise have been calling attention to the exceptional raw materials that are produced in our fields. France is out to seduce the world of whisky.
It’s in this stimulating environment that master distiller Alban Perret visualized Ninalys Whisky, unique single malts. Alban Perret took fifteen years to create Ninalys. Blending together a unique combination of brewing, distillation and aging, all in the French way, he has produced one of French whiskies’ most distinctive concentrates: Ninalys Whisky Chardonnay.
ALBAN, a master distiller
Winemaker, brewer and distiller, Alban Perret is a real jack of all trades.
He has carried Scotland in his heart since he trained at Edinburgh’s Institute of Brewing & Distilling, and yet Alban Perret embodies the warm curiosity and passionate outlook that make French whisky singular. Originally a winegrower, he loves visiting the most well-known French wine regions to select the barrels in which newly distilled whiskies will age. An accomplished brewer, he nurtures Ninalys Whisky out of a wash made in our own brewery. This is then distilled in a Charentais alembic still and matured in barrels having already been used for French wine – for a tasting experience of rare finesse.
Our Whiskies are just like him : Authentic, Delicate and generous.
Why Ninalys ?
Ninalys was born out of a desire for bringing together, uniting whisky’s gentle character with French distillers’ expertise. The girl’s name Nina, refers to the natural elegance found in both beauty and a lily of the valley’s delicacy. Ninalys represents France and our artisans, the quality of whose work is recognized around the world today.
